2021 Mazda3: All-wheel drive fun
July 26 2021,
The Mazda3 has stood out since it first arrived on the market over 15 years ago. The Mazda compact vehicle was the first to pair driving pleasure with the features that buyers want in this segment. This philosophy remains true to this day.
Mazda has designed its latest generation of Mazda3 and Mazda3 Sport compact sedans to be as fun and as dynamic as possible without compromising on efficiency and safety. Mazda has optimized the chassis to do more than just provide thrilling handling. The goal of the new Mazda3 was to provide unparalleled levels of comfort and driving pleasure.
Impressive All-Wheel Drive
That said, the Mazda3 offers even more technologies, many of which are exclusive to Mazda. Examples include G-Vectoring Control Plus (GVC Plus), which stabilizes the behaviour of the car for more precise handling and braking. In addition, for the first time in a Mazda3, an optional all-wheel-drive system is available. The i-ACTIV AWD system uses numerous sensors to predict the evolution of road conditions so that the system reacts immediately. The AWD system works in all driving situations, whether it be dry pavement, rain, or deep snow.
The Mazda3 and Mazda3 Sport with front-wheel drive can be powered by a frugal 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine developing 155 horsepower or by a powerful 2.5-litre 4-cylinder developing 186 horsepower. You can choose between a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission. By opting for the i-ACTIV AWD system, the 6-speed automatic transmission and the 2.5-litre engine are standard.
Turbocharged Performance
Another important feature of the 2021 Mazda3 is the new turbocharged engine which was introduced earlier this year. With up to 250 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque, this engine delivers exceptional performance that can easily rival and even surpass the likes of the Audi A3, BMW 2 Series, and Mercedes-Benz CLA. You also enjoy similar levels of refinement and better reliability, for less money.
Inside, the new Mazda3 will surround you with quality materials, intuitive infotainment systems, and advanced safety features. Mazda Connect’s infotainment system includes a large, well-designed 8.8-inch display. The user interface has been revised and the updated system now requires fewer entries for optimized user experience. Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE advanced driver assistance technologies are standard.
