A few things you want to do with your vehicle before winter arrives
October 26 2021,
Winter is harsh on your vehicle. It brings with it a host of variables including dirtier roads, fluctuating temperatures, less traction, and the need for our vehicle to be in the best possible condition. Canadians know winter very well and we know that the best way to get through the next few months is to make sure our vehicle is in good condition before the first snow falls. We can help you do just that at Scarboro Mazda. Here are a few tips that will help you keep your vehicle in the best possible condition.
Have your vehicle serviced
This is perhaps the best tip we can give you. Winter is harsh on your vehicle. It brings with it fluctuating temperatures and the icy cold and accumulating snow and ice can wreak havoc on your mechanical components if your vehicle isn't in perfect condition. A proper maintenance or service package before winter starts is always a sound investment. We will make sure that your liquids are topped off, and that there isn't an underlying mechanical condition that needs to be addressed before it gets cold. We will also make sure that your battery and brakes can face the tough months ahead.
Protect your vehicle's interior and exterior
With the sand and salt and dirt that accumulates on the road in winter, it is always a good idea to consider protecting your vehicle's paint and carpets inside. You can do this with a set of winter mats and cargo protectors which fit perfectly where your original carpets are and protect them from the salt and calcium stains. You can also have a look at adding a protective wrap to your vehicle. This wrap is a clear film that you can't see unless you look very closely but that does an excellent job to keep small rocks off of your paint. It is a small investment that can pay huge dividends.
Have your wheels aligned and check your winter tires
Now is a good time to start thinking about installing your winter tires. It is certainly a good time to think about having your tires checked to make sure they are still in good condition or checking them out yourself. You may also want to book a service appointment to have your vehicle’s wheels aligned. This way when winter comes around, you will be ready to go! Give us a call today to learn more.
