What Hybrid Vehicles Are Coming at Mazda ?
August 11 2022,
Mazda is taking the lead in terms of electrification and plans on unveiling numerous new additions to its catalogue in order to complete the electrification of all the models it produces by 2030. These new vehicles will all bear the renowned Mazda style and reliability while offering maximum performance and ultimate efficiency.
In Europe and Japan, Mazda is introducing two new products, the two-row CX-60 and the three-row CX-80. These models use four-cylinder gasoline engines combined with PHEV capability. But Mazda has made specific adjustments to cater to North Americans in terms of versatility and performance.
Let’s take a look at these future hybrid vehicles.
Hybrid Mazda SUVs for Small and Large Families
The recent introduction of the CX-50 marked a new era at Mazda, with its rugged looks and the perfect balance between refinement and adventure it represents. A hybrid version of this CX-50 should soon follow to add a supplemental dose of efficiency in this already frugal option in the segment.
The CX-90 is also set to follow in 2023. This one will offer three rows of passengers to cater to larger families on the go. It will offer turbocharged, straight-six gas engine and plug-in hybrid models in order to offer all-electric range possibilities. Set to replace the CX-9, the CX-90 will be built on Mazda’s new longitudinal architecture.
The CX-70 will be following the same philosophy, but will have a two-row configuration with plenty of cargo volume. It will also offer several gas and PHEV powertrain options to offer customers maximum versatility.
The MX-30 Goes Hybrid
The popular fully electric MX-30 is also getting something new. A new hybrid variant will be introduced globally with a range-extending rotary gas engine that will serve as a generator and will recharge the battery in order to boost range and make the MX-30 an even more practical vehicle.
Mazda is also working on a new EV-dedicated platform for 2025, contributing to Mazda’s commitment to electrification.
